His professional acting career began in national and regional commercials in South Florida in 2008. After booking two national spots (VW, KFC) in 2011, he moved to New York and began training at the William Esper studio under Terry Knickerbocker.
In Summer of 2013 Melvin had his first big-screen appearance in the feature film Tio Papi, which was directed by long-time friend and collaborator Fro Rojas. The team also shot a short film sponsored by Bacardi titled Wynwood that same year.
After years of training at various NYC studios (Maggie Flanigan, Anthony Abeson) Melvin began working on independent films and Off-Broadway plays (The Morning After). Melvin nabbed his first Co-Star on CBS' Bull in January of 2018.
He continues to train and audition in New York.
